The Rimefang spell is now on premium preview in Prime and will be so for one week.

"First used by a nomadic clan of Water mages in the frigid regions of Forfedhdar, the Rimefang spell was given as a gift to the Warrior Mage Guild as a token of goodwill upon the rediscovery of that province. Binding the powers of ice and snow tightly about him, the caster cloaks himself with a chilling mist. From this cloud crystallize blades of ice which whirl about, slashing nearby enemies to ribbons."

Any premium warrior mage may attempt to cast this spell, but be aware that it is slightly more difficult than Ice Patch (its prerequisite). Younger mages will have difficulty casting this spell.

Anyone played with it? Is it any good? Worth losing my Fire Lion title to get it?

The spell seems neat, does damage to things at melee to you as the ice dances around you.

The Rimefang spell is now available on general preview for warrior mages in both Prime and The Fallen.

It's been awhile since I set up a preview.

P.S. Some big updates to its messaging are in QC, mostly dealing with hidden/invisible status. Feel free to comment on any problems you witness, but most (if not all) of the issues should be resolved shortly.

I'm not sure what type of damage does it, maybe impact, but I can do some serious damage to armor with AE.

Sounds more like this spell should have been a bardic enchante.

I mean it's not like war mages can have more than one spell on them at a time, target other spells while Rimefang is pulsing or don't need to maintain the spell with more mana each time it pulses.

I don't expect this spell to remain good for long. Galain taking out Joshuan in 1 shot before Joshuan can enter "backstab galain" makes me think it's not quite balanced yet.

When has balance ever mattered for Warrior Mage spells?

Then again, I guess AC is getting nerfed. I still doubt Rimefang will get touched.
