I was disappointed too. Luckily I wasn't one of the people paying 5 plat per dira or whatever, I collected all of mine through trading and gifts.

It would be cool if we got an item or a title or something that marked us as being huge coin-collecting nerds, but instead... 3 plat. Sigh.
